Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Boksburg, and the load gets there because of you. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

What your day looks like

Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads

You'll need

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean criminal record

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Knowledge of SADC border routes
Dangerous goods training certificate

On offer

Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
