Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cold-chain logistics fleet in Prospecton is hiring. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Prospecton (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

You'll need

Clean criminal record
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Medically fit, including eyesight
