Job Description

You'll move heavy loads between Vanderbijlpark and depots across the country for a cold-chain logistics fleet. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Vanderbijlpark-based, with most of your time spent at a cold-chain logistics fleet. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot

You'll need

Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean criminal record
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Medically fit, including eyesight

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course
