Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a cold-chain logistics fleet in Durban Central pays for. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Durban Central-based, with most of your time spent at a cold-chain logistics fleet.

What your day looks like

Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads

Must-haves

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Clean criminal record

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Defensive driving course
Clean record on a telematics driving score
