Job Description

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a bus and coach operator in Durban Central, that could be you. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Durban Central-based, with most of your time spent at a bus and coach operator. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Update customers on delivery times and delays
Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests

What you need

Good with Excel and email
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
At least 2 years in transport or logistics
Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
Matric
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

Extra points for

Transport management system (TMS) experience
Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
Knowledge of cross-border documentation
