Code 14 Side Tipper Driver (Coal Haulage)

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a long-haul freight fleet in Epping pays for. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a long-haul freight fleet in Epping. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
• Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

• Clean driving record with no serious accidents
• Passport for cross-border routes
• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks

• Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
• Clean record on a telematics driving score
• Dangerous goods training certificate

• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips

• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
