Job Description

The road is your office with a coal haulage contractor based in Kempton Park, and the load gets there because of you. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Kempton Park (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

Must-haves

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
