Job Description

You'll move heavy loads between Pinetown and depots across the country for a coal haulage contractor. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a coal haulage contractor on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot

Must-haves

Clean criminal record
Passport for cross-border routes
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Medically fit, including eyesight
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time

Extra points for

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Defensive driving course
