Job Description

The road is your office with a cold-chain logistics fleet based in Pretoria West, and the load gets there because of you. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a cold-chain logistics fleet in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips

You'll need

Medically fit, including eyesight
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)

Helpful, not essential

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course
Dangerous goods training certificate
