Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Pretoria West, and the load gets there because of you. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a cross-border transport company in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

Must-haves

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Passport for cross-border routes
Clean criminal record
