Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a long-haul freight fleet in Krugersdorp is hiring. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a long-haul freight fleet on the Krugersdorp side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

Must-haves

At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Passport for cross-border routes
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of SADC border routes
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Defensive driving course
