Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a coal haulage contractor in Vereeniging pays for. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a coal haulage contractor in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts

What you need

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

Helpful, not essential

Defensive driving course
Knowledge of SADC border routes
Clean record on a telematics driving score
