Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cold-chain logistics fleet in Boksburg is hiring. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a cold-chain logistics fleet on the Boksburg side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips

What you need

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Medically fit, including eyesight

Extra points for

Knowledge of SADC border routes
Defensive driving course
