Code 8 Courier Driver (Panel Van)

You'll zip parcels, spares or documents around Epping for an engineering firm, all day, all over town. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at an engineering firm. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Phone customers when the address is hard to find
• Return undelivered parcels to the depot with a reason code
• Follow the delivery app for route and stop order
• Fill up the vehicle and keep fuel slips for the logbook
• Load parcels in route order from the depot scanning area
• Bank cheques, post documents and run office errands

• Good sense of direction and map reading
• Smartphone and comfortable using delivery apps
• Able to work Saturdays
• Polite with customers at the door
• Clean driving record and no criminal record

• PrDP for staff shuttle posts
• Previous courier or last-mile experience

• Branded uniform and rain gear
• Per-drop incentive on busy days
• Company van, bakkie or scooter provided
• Fuel card for work trips

• Say you have a smartphone and know delivery apps. Most courier jobs now run through an app and training time is short.
• If you have a clean driving record, write "no accidents, no traffic fines" plainly. It is what recruiters look for.
