Coded Welder (Pressure Vessels)

The pressure vessel manufacturer in Thohoyandou needs a coded welder who can hold a WPS and deliver clean, sound joints. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a pressure vessel manufacturer in Thohoyandou. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Follow the welding procedure specification for every joint you weld
• TIG weld stainless steel tanks and fittings with proper back-purging
• Prepare joints for radiographic and dye penetrant testing
• Grind and repair welds flagged by the QC inspector
• Weld carbon steel pipe in the 6G position using GTAW root and SMAW fill

• Medical fitness certificate for industrial sites, or willing to get one
• You can read fabrication and isometric drawings without help
• Boilermaker or welder trade test certificate, or current SAIW welder qualification
• At least 2 years of production or site welding after qualifying
• Steady hands and good eyesight, with or without glasses

• Orbital or automatic welding experience
• Experience on structural work to AWS D1.1

• Leather welding PPE and auto-darkening helmet supplied
• Shutdown bonus and site allowance for work away from home
• Coding renewals paid by the employer

• Expect a practical welding test on the first day. Bring your own gloves and chipping hammer so you feel at home.
• If you have worked shutdowns, name the type of plant, like refinery or sugar mill. It proves you know the site rules.
