Job Description

Fruit from an avocado packhouse near Richards Bay ends up on shelves overseas, packed by your hands. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll report in Richards Bay. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Stick labels and batch codes on each carton

Must-haves

Basic counting and reading for labels
Valid ID or permit
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Quick and neat with your hands
Able to stand at a line for long shifts
Follows hygiene rules at all times

Helpful, not essential

Previous packhouse work
Knowledge of export standards like GLOBALG.A.P.
