Job Description

Hit your collection targets at this retail credit centre in Johannesburg CBD and your commission shows it. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a retail credit centre in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Answer disputes about balances, interest and fees with a printed statement.
Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

What you need

Matric
At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Clear credit and criminal record
Target-driven and comfortable with commission
Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations

Nice if you have

A second South African language
Legal collections or attorney-firm background
