Job Description

This debt collection agency in Tembisa needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll report in Tembisa. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.

You'll need

You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
Target-driven and comfortable with commission
Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors

Helpful, not essential

A second South African language
Legal collections or attorney-firm background
Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules
