Job Description

Service is busy at this casual dining restaurant in Middelburg (MP), so steady hands and a tidy station matter here. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a casual dining restaurant on the Middelburg (MP) side of Mpumalanga.

The work, day to day

Help cost recipes and track waste on the weekly sheet.
Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
Label, date and rotate stock using first-in, first-out.
Bake breads, pastries or desserts for the morning buffet.
Cook for banquets and conference lunches of 100 to 400 guests.

You'll need

A culinary certificate or City & Guilds, or solid on-the-job experience
Good knife skills and you can prep at speed
You take instruction from the head chef without drama
You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts

Nice if you have

Stock and ordering experience on a system such as Micros or Pilot
Pastry or bakery training
Halaal or kosher kitchen experience
