Construction Health and Safety Agent – Fixed-Term

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this building contractor in Pretoria East needs someone who can do all three well. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll report in Pretoria East. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements

• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• You write clear reports in English
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014

• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Travel and site allowances

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
