General Foreman (Concrete & Structures)

Here you run the site: labour, materials, quality and progress for the retail and commercial builder in Centurion. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Centurion. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning

• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites

• Surveying skills with a total station
• Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects

• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Cellphone and laptop supplied
• Project completion bonus linked to handover date

• A common mistake is listing only company names. Say what you built, for example "32 walk-up flats, 3 storeys".
• Mention the contract types you have worked on, like JBCC or GCC. It shows you understand claims and variations.
