Construction Health and Safety Agent

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this municipal infrastructure project in Prospecton needs someone who can do all three well. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Prospecton-based, with most of your time spent at a municipal infrastructure project. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily

• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites

• Fall protection planner training
• Diploma in Safety Management
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
