Construction Health and Safety Officer (SACPCMP) – Permanent

You'll keep the site legal and the workers safe for the high-rise residential project in Isando. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Isando-based, with most of your time spent at a high-rise residential project.

• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work

• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• You write clear reports in English

• Diploma in Safety Management
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances
• Laptop and data for reporting

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
