Construction Health and Safety Officer (SACPCMP)

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this renewable energy construction site in Middelburg (MP) needs someone who can do all three well. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Middelburg (MP), Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height

• First Aid Level 1 at least
• You write clear reports in English
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014

• Fall protection planner training
• Diploma in Safety Management

• Travel and site allowances
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
