Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds)

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the shopfitting company in Mbombela. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Mbombela, Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Travel allowance for site visits
