Job Description

You'll run the site day to day for the civil engineering contractor in Centurion, from setting out to handover. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a civil engineering contractor on the Centurion side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion
Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates

You'll need

You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
