Contract Cleaner (Corporate Building)

You'll keep a call centre floor in Rosslyn clean, stocked and fresh before the people arrive. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Rosslyn, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors following the daily cleaning schedule
• Refill toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers
• Mix cleaning chemicals at the dilution shown on the label, never by guesswork
• Sign the ablution checklist on the back of the door after each clean
• Wipe desks, door handles, lift buttons and light switches

• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items
• Clean criminal record for most corporate sites
• Grade 10 or higher
• Able to stand, bend and walk for a full shift

• Previous contract cleaning experience with a reference
• Chemical handling training from a supplier or contractor

• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured
• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules

• Ask a former supervisor if you can put their number on your CV. Cleaning contractors almost always phone a reference.
• List each site you have cleaned (office, mall, school) and how long you stayed. Contractors want people who stick with a site.
