Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds) – Immediate Start

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the main building contractor in Randburg. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at a main building contractor. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Travel allowance for site visits

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
