Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds)

Make sure every rand on site is counted, claimed and certified for the quantity surveying practice in Richards Bay. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Richards Bay; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel

• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Travel allowance for site visits
