Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds) – Immediate Start

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the quantity surveying practice in Somerset West. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a quantity surveying practice in Somerset West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
