Control and Instrumentation Engineer

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the electrical consulting engineering firm in Epping. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at an electrical consulting engineering firm. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software

• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites

• PLC programming certification
• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)

• Flexible hours on design days
• Paid professional registration and training
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer

• List projects with their voltage level, size in kVA or MW, and whether you designed, supervised or commissioned.
• Name the software you use for power system studies and lighting design. Consultants screen for exact tools.
