Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this water treatment utility in Midrand needs a sharp electrical engineer. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Midrand, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres

What you need

BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
