Control Room Operator (Metallurgical Plant)

The coal washing plant near Ermelo needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a coal washing plant on the Ermelo side of Mpumalanga. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
• Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
• Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
• Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards

• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE

• Control room experience
• Forklift or overhead crane licence
• N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy

• Shift allowances and overtime
• Medical aid and pension fund
