Control Room Operator (Metallurgical Plant)

The gold processing plant near Pretoria East needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Pretoria East-based, with most of your time spent at a gold processing plant.

• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk

• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks

• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs

• Laboratory or sampling experience
• Forklift or overhead crane licence

• Shift allowances and overtime
• Medical aid and pension fund
• Transport from surrounding towns

• If you have worked in a control room, say which system and how many hours a shift you ran it.
• Say which plant sections you have run: crushing, milling, flotation or DMS. Recruiters match you to the open section.
