Control Room Operator (Metallurgical Plant)

The iron ore beneficiation plant near Vereeniging needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Vereeniging; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens
• Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report

• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
