Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant)

An audit and advisory firm in Krugersdorp needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Krugersdorp-based, with most of your time spent at an audit and advisory firm. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA

• Paid professional body membership fees
