Courier Pharmacy Picker and Packer

Work under a registered pharmacist at a private hospital dispensary in Isando and keep the dispensary running smoothly. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Isando (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves

• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
• Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
• Fixed rota published a month ahead

• Mention your daily script volume, such as "dispensed 150+ scripts a day"; it shows you can handle pressure.
