Creche Assistant (Baby Room) – Fixed-Term

You'll care for and teach young children at a Montessori pre-school in Brits, from nappies to first letters. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a Montessori pre-school in Brits. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
• Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
• Set up daily learning areas for art, blocks, reading and fantasy play
• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
• Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group

• ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
• Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
• Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance
• Matric
• Paediatric first aid certificate

• Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
• Experience with children with special needs
• Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training

• Short holiday closures over December and Easter

• Apply for the Form 30 check early, as it can take weeks and many creches won't appoint without it.
• Add one sentence about an activity you ran that the children loved; it shows you can plan, not just supervise.
