Creditors Clerk (Manufacturing)

A small accounting practice in Atlantis needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a small accounting practice on the Atlantis side of Western Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days

• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• Matric with Accounting
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details

• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper

• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms

• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
