Job Description

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a wholesale distributor in Cape Town CBD. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a wholesale distributor. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out

What you need

Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
Understanding of VAT input and output rules

Helpful, not essential

Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
