Job Description

A small accounting practice in Richards Bay needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Richards Bay-based, with most of your time spent at a small accounting practice. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation

What you need

Matric with Accounting
Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
Understanding of VAT input and output rules
