Creditors Clerk (Manufacturing)

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a property management company in Sandton. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a property management company in Sandton. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items

• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• Matric with Accounting
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)

• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams

• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
