Creditors Clerk (Manufacturing)

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a small accounting practice in Soweto. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Soweto, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers
• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review

• Matric with Accounting
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)

• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks

• Office hours with no weekend work
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams

• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
• Name the accounting packages you use daily in your CV headline, such as "Sage Pastel Partner, Xero, Excel".
