Customer Care Consultant (Retail Bank)

You'll take customer calls and chats at an online retail help desk in Pretoria East, sorting problems on the first contact. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an online retail help desk in Pretoria East. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Troubleshoot routers, fibre connections and app logins step by step.
• Verify caller identity before sharing any account details, as POPIA requires.
• Process address changes, refunds and cancellations on the billing system.
• Escalate complex complaints to a team leader with clear case notes.
• Answer inbound calls within target and greet callers using the approved script.

• Matric with a pass in English
• You stay calm when a caller is angry
• Basic computer skills: Windows, email and working across a few screens
• Open to rotating shifts, including nights and weekends for offshore campaigns
• Able to pass a voice and accent assessment

• A second language, especially Afrikaans, isiZulu or Portuguese
• A Customer Service NQF Level 2 or 4 learnership certificate

• Monthly performance bonus linked to quality and attendance
• Paid training for 2 to 4 weeks before you go live
• Clear promotion path to team leader or quality assessor

• Practise answering "Tell me about a time you helped an unhappy customer" out loud before the voice interview.
• Take the online assessment in a quiet room with a headset; most BPOs screen out candidates on background noise.
