Customer Service Clerk (Courier Depot)

This insurance branch in Paarl needs someone friendly who can fix account problems while the queue moves. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at an insurance branch in Paarl. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Take payments, balance your till and bank cash at close.
• Update customer details and file signed forms for audit.
• Track parcels, reissue waybills and arrange redelivery at the counter.
• Greet customers, find out what they need and manage the queue ticket system.
• Upsell contract upgrades, accessories or cover when it fits the customer.

• You can stay polite with a long queue watching
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• Presentable and approachable with all kinds of customers
• Retail hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and month-end
• Retail or customer service experience of at least a year

• Product training and certifications paid for
• Monthly sales incentive on upgrades and add-ons
• Fixed roster published two weeks ahead

• Apply close to home: stores prefer people who can reach the mall reliably for opening and closing shifts.
• Dress as if you already work the counter when you drop off a CV or go for the interview.
