Data Engineer (Azure Data Factory) – Entry Level

Build the SQL, models and dashboards that run the weekly meeting at a microlender in Sandton. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Sandton; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
• Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
• Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
• Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
• Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python

• Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
• Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
• Advanced Excel
• Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
• At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)

• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric
• Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
• Python with pandas for data wrangling
