Data Scientist (Customer Analytics)

A telecoms provider in Soweto needs dashboards people trust and numbers that add up. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a telecoms provider on the Soweto side of Gauteng. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
• Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
• Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
• Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
• Check data quality and trace odd numbers back to the source

• Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
• Advanced Excel
• At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)
• Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs

• Paid cloud and BI certifications
• Annual bonus tied to company performance
• Hybrid work with two office days
