Debt Recovery Attorney (Banking Panel)

Take on a real caseload and build your name at a debt recovery law firm in eMalahleni. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in eMalahleni. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Manage a portfolio of litigation or advisory matters on your own
• Review company processes for POPIA and privacy compliance
• Appear in the magistrate's court, CCMA, Labour Court or High Court as your matters need
• Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
• Brief counsel and prepare them for trial and opposed motions

• At least 2 years of post-admission experience in the relevant field
• Strong drafting and legal research
• LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts
• Able to manage client relationships without a senior in the room
• Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money

• Hybrid work outside court days
• Clear path to directorship at some firms
• Paid LPC fees and CPD

• Firms check your LPC standing, so get your certificate of good standing before you apply.
• Give a short matter list with outcomes, stripped of client names, to prove your experience.
