You'll run your own files from instruction to judgment at a mid-sized commercial law firm in Roodepoort. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Roodepoort, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses
• Record billable time and hit the monthly target
• Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
• Advise clients on risk, settlement and next steps in plain language
• Supervise and train candidate attorneys and paralegals
• Keep trust account instructions and fee notes accurate

• At least 2 years of post-admission experience in the relevant field
• Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money
• Strong drafting and legal research
• Sound judgement under deadline pressure
• Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts
• LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa

• LLM or postgraduate certificate in your specialist area
• Certificate in data protection or compliance

• Clear path to directorship at some firms
