Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks) – Experienced

Delivery days start early in Germiston, and a cement and brick yard needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Germiston, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit

• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late

• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days
